Anne-Happy Review

Anne-Happy is about a happy girl who stays happy whatever happens to her, and with how unlucky she is, a lot of bad stuff happens. Here is our full Anne-Happy Review.

This season aired in the Spring 2016 anime season. Anne-Happy was animated by SILVER LINK., also known for Non Non Biyori and BOFURI: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense.

In the world of Anne-Happy, we are introduced to a group of high school girls who, ironically, are anything but lucky. Anne-Happy offers a refreshing take on the slice-of-life genre by focusing on the misadventures of these unfortunate girls. The story revolves around Hibari, Hanako, and Botan, each with their unique and comically exaggerated forms of bad luck. Despite their misfortunes, they come together in a special class designed to help them overcome their bad luck and find happiness. This heartwarming tale explores the girls’ struggles and their journey towards friendship and personal growth. With its endearing characters and humorous situations, Anne-Happy proves to be a fun and cute anime that will leave you with a smile on your face.

One of the unexpected surprises in Anne-Happy is the shift in tone during its final two episodes. What started as a lighthearted slice-of-life series takes a sudden turn into a strange battle royale/tag game. It adds an element of excitement and suspense to the story.

Anne-Happy Review - characters in classroom

I’ve been hearing some cute anime song that goes “ti-ti-timo timo” for ages on YouTube and Tiktok…. it came from here and I just randomly stumbled upon this anime and it’s just so cute, I absolutely loved the music here and each episode is just a pleasure to watch.

Each episode is kind of standalone, each with its own unique story and challenges for the girls to face. This episodic format keeps the series fresh and engaging, and I found myself looking forward to each new adventure.

While Anne-Happy has not received a second season, to me it looked like the anime was made to boost the manga’s sales. The anime teases you with hints of future developments, such as the mysterious girl the main character, Hibari, who seems to have a connection to Timothy.
