Most Hated Anime Characters

There are so many anime characters nowadays. Some we admire, others we detest. While many characters are celebrated for their heroics or comedic antics, some become notorious for their actions or characteristics. Let’s check out some of the Most Hated Anime Characters.

    Spandam – One Piece

Most Hated Anime Characters - Spandam

The Chief of CP9 in One Piece, Spandam’s mistreatment of Robin and ruthless ambition make him one of the most despised characters in the series. His cowardice and his position of power further fuel the fans’ animosity.

    Umaru Doma – Himouto! Umaru-chan

While she’s an ideal student in public, Umaru reveals her true lazy, otaku nature at home. Some find her antics hilarious, but others view her as a spoiled, manipulative brat. I personally am in the camp of the former rather than the latter.

Gabi Braun – Attack On Titan

Gabi’s actions have made her a controversial figure in the Attack On Titan fandom. Though her reasons are explained in the narrative, many fans struggle to sympathize with her decisions.

Shou Tucker – Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

He initially appears as a government-sanctioned alchemist, known for his groundbreaking research in bio-alchemy. This leads protagonists Edward and Alphonse Elric to visit Tucker’s estate in hopes of gaining insight from his extensive library of alchemical texts. During their stay, the brothers forge what seems to be a friendly relationship with him. However, as the story unfolds, a darker side of Tucker’s scientific pursuits is revealed, which revolves around his experiments that blend human and animal life.

Minoru Mineta – My Hero Academia

Mineta’s pervy behavior and comments towards his female peers have landed him in hot water with fans. Many find his character to be lacking depth, making him a frequent subject of fan criticism.

Anime characters, whether loved or hated, add depth to their respective series, evoking strong feelings in viewers. While some of these characters are divisive, their presence undeniably adds to the rich tapestry of anime storytelling.
