    Working Buddies! Review

Working Buddies! shows us the adventures of 2 friends traversing the job market of Japan and trying their best and some common jobs found in Japan. Here is our full Working Buddies! Review!

The anime started airing in the Winter 2018 anime season. Working Buddies! is animated by Tomovies, they also did the 2nd season of Working Buddies!.

While there isn’t much story other than 2 episodes where they go more into the background of the characters, there is still a lot of character in the individual episodes where they take on a new job every episode. Unlike most shows, they Teach things most anime don’t, working regular jobs, and giving tips on how to become a better employee and how to work with customers in different types of jobs.

It was a breath of fresh air to see but some jobs are kinda Japan exclusive, like a DVD store, in most Western countries they are just not around anymore, but I think it might be a cultural thing. While other jobs like working in retail are a lot more common, they do also teach some stuff that is a bit of etiquette in Japan.

Visually I personally didn’t really like it, I didn’t mind it, but it’s not something I would like to watch the majority of the time and it felt at points more like a stiff flash animation. Other than the faces, every movement of the characters felt stiff, and instead of walking, the characters just glided from 1 place to another. At least it was better than the animation in the intro, because that was just borderline creepy.

    SUMMARY

While I did enjoy the anime, I wish there was some actual story going on in the back instead of just jumping from job to job. The animation style isn't my thing but it has its charm in the end.
